World Cup finalists Angola have named Scotland-based winger Jose Quitongo among nine uncapped players in the Palancas Negras squad for their Cosafa Cup mini-tournament later this month.

Coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves has picked 31-year-old Quitongo along with four other foreign-based players in a squad of 27 for the mini-tournament in Lesotho at the end of April.

Quitongo returned to action only last week after being signed by third division Partick Thistle after being released by Alloa at the start of the year.

Also named for the first time is Belgium-based midfielder Mateus Matinungina from club-side Sprimont Comblain Sport.

Angola meet Mauritius in Maseru on 29 April in one of two semi-final matches and play again the next day again either Lesotho or Mozambique in the group final or third place play-off match.

Angola's coach selected players which are mostly on the fringe of World Cup selection in a last chance for many to impress in their bid for places in the squad that will travel to Germany in June.

The 27-squad for the tournament in Lesotho includes nine players who competed at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt in January where Angola failed to get past the first round.

Angola have been drawn in Group D alongside Mexico, Portugal and Iran in the World Cup Finals. The Palancas Negras will play their first World Cup match against Portugal in Cologne on 11 June.
